Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: September 2026

The Michigan Association for Addiction Professionals (MAADAC) is committed to providing an inclusive digital experience and making our website, information, and online resources accessible to the broadest possible audience.

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. As our website, technology, resources, and services continue to evolve, MAADAC will continue working to identify and address accessibility barriers.

1. Our Commitment

MAADAC believes professionals and members of the public should be able to access information and resources regardless of ability or the technology used to access our website.

We are committed to improving the usability and accessibility of our website and incorporating accessibility considerations into the continued development of our digital presence.

2. Accessibility Standards

MAADAC seeks to improve the accessibility of its website with consideration for generally recognized digital accessibility practices, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

These guidelines address accessibility considerations involving areas such as:

  • Text readability and contrast

  • Keyboard navigation

  • Page structure and headings

  • Alternative text for meaningful images

  • Links and navigation

  • Forms and form labels

  • Responsive design

  • Compatibility with assistive technologies

Our accessibility efforts are ongoing, and the presence of this statement should not be interpreted as a representation that every page or third-party component currently satisfies every accessibility criterion.

3. Ongoing Accessibility Efforts

As the MAADAC website is developed and maintained, we may review and improve areas including:

  • Color contrast and text visibility

  • Heading structure

  • Keyboard accessibility

  • Alternative text for images

  • Form labels and instructions

  • Link descriptions

  • Mobile usability

  • Navigation consistency

  • Document accessibility

  • Compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies

We may also make accessibility improvements as issues are identified or technology changes.

4. Third-Party Content and Services

Some portions of the MAADAC website may rely on third-party platforms, embedded content, external websites, documents, membership systems, event platforms, social media services, or other technologies that are not developed or controlled directly by MAADAC.

While we encourage accessible experiences, MAADAC may not be able to control the accessibility of third-party platforms or external content.

If you encounter an accessibility issue involving a third-party service accessed through our website, we encourage you to contact us so we can help identify an alternative when reasonably possible.

5. Documents and Downloadable Resources

MAADAC may provide PDFs, educational materials, forms, publications, or other downloadable resources.

We are working to improve the accessibility of digital resources as they are created, updated, or identified for remediation.

If you encounter a document that you cannot access because of its format, please contact MAADAC. When reasonably possible, we will work with you to provide the information in an alternative format.

6. Need Assistance Accessing Information?

If a disability or accessibility barrier prevents you from accessing information, completing a form, navigating part of the website, or using an online resource, please contact MAADAC.

When reasonably possible, we will work with you to provide the requested information, resource, or service through an accessible alternative.

7. Report an Accessibility Issue

Feedback helps us identify areas where the MAADAC website can be improved.

When reporting an accessibility problem, it is helpful to include:

  • The page or resource where you experienced the problem

  • A brief description of the accessibility barrier

  • The device, browser, or assistive technology involved, if relevant

  • A way for us to contact you if you would like a response

Please do not include sensitive personal, medical, or confidential information that is not necessary for us to understand the accessibility issue.

8. Contact Us

Accessibility questions, requests for assistance, and reports of accessibility barriers may be submitted through the Contact Us page on the MAADAC website.
